What is AVB?
AVB is a network protocol. It enables near-latency-free, fully synchronized streaming of audio and video in real time. Thanks to reserved bandwidth for A/V data, an AVB network is fail-safe and suitable for the high demands of professional applications.
All MOTU AVB interfaces have the same features
An
internal DSP for access to mixing console functions for 48 channels, 12 stereo buses, 32-bit floating-point processing, a four-band equalizer with independently activatable, fully parametric bands, vintage compression and classic reverb.

With the
routing and splitting matrix you have full control over every single analog/digital input, computer channel and network stream. You can also use all MOTU AVB interfaces in standalone mode.

With the
web app you control all settings via your smartphone or tablet.
Touch Consoleā¢
The Touch Console⢠was specially developed for touchscreen operation and offers a completely new mixing experience. Use Touch Control on your tablet or smartphone to effortlessly control the powerful 48-channel mixer and effects of the MOTU AVB interface. With extra-large control panels for fingers, multi-touch functions and an intuitive design, you can tap, swipe and create a perfect mix at any time.
DSP Mixing and Effects Processing
The MOTU AVB interfaces have a mixing console with 48 inputs, stereo aux buses, groups, access to network channels and DSP effects such as reverb, 4-band equalizer, gate and compressor; modeled vintage effects such as Classic Reverb, compression via modeling of the legendary Teletronix LA-2A compressor, equalizer modeled after the great British analog consoles and 32-bit floating-point processing. The mix and effects processor offers virtually unlimited virtual headroom and maximum sound quality.
Diagnostic Tools
Analyze your audio data with professional diagnostic tools such as FFT display, spectrogram "waterfall" display, fully-equipped oscilloscope, X-Y plot and phase analysis.
Quick Setup Presets
All MOTU AVB interfaces feature pre-configured setups for various applications. For example, with the "Audio Interface" preset, everything is already set up so you can immediately start working with your favorite DAW; with "Interface + Mixer" all inputs are additionally available in the AVB mixer. Of course, you can also create, save and load your own presets - even directly on the interface, without a computer.
Scalability
You can expand your AVB interfaces into an ever-growing network. This allows you to equip studio complexes, master huge live situations and network entire university complexes.
Latency
The latency of AVB interfaces is extremely low at 0.625 ms, even when using network cables several hundred meters long.
